Fundraising and Communications Assistant

Status: Full-time term position
Term: October 23 – November 24, 2017
Wage: $13/hour
Reports to: Director of Philanthropy
Relationships: Works closely with other employees 

The fundraising and communications assistant will support the tasks of the fundraising department, primarily but not exclusively related to iDE Canada’s annual fundraising gala. 
This position will report to the Director of Philanthropy.  

Assisting with various gala preparations, such as
o    Coordinating and ordering event supplies
o    Assisting with seating plan coordination
o    Collecting dietary restrictions and communicating to RBC Convention Centre 
o    Assisting with gala set-up, together with a volunteer team

Assisting on all duties as needed at the gala event, including
o    Greeting guests
o    Donation collection
o    Table clean up

Assisting with post-gala duties, including
o    Processing of all donations, including thank you letters and receipting
o    Coordination of other thank you letters and gifts
o    Gala debriefing and planning for next year

Other duties as assigned

•    Experience in an administrative position
•    Experience with data entry / database management
•    Demonstrated skills in volunteer management
•    Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
•    Positive attitude and flexibility
•    Ability to multi-task
